Getting started
This is the five-minute version. It assumes KeyMob is installed and a device is paired.
1. Pick the device
Section titled “1. Pick the device”Open KeyMob with the phone connected. The device list shows what it can see; select yours. The header then carries the model, the iOS version and the connection type.
2. Scope to an app
Section titled “2. Scope to an app”Most questions are about one app, not about the whole handset. Choose it in the app selector — the counters, the log filter and the file browser all follow that choice.
Leave it on the whole device when the question is “what is running at all”, for example an unexplained battery drain overnight.
3. Open the module that answers your question
Section titled “3. Open the module that answers your question”| The question | The module |
|---|---|
| Why is it stuttering? | Performance, then FPS and jank |
| What did it just print? | Live logs |
| Why did it die? | Crash logs |
| What did it write to disk? | File manager, then App data |
| What is installed, and can I install this build? | App management |
| What drained the battery? | Usage history and Energy |
| Is this device stock? | Device information |
4. Capture something you can share
Section titled “4. Capture something you can share”A reading nobody else can see is only half an answer. Every module exports:
- Performance runs save as a capture you can reopen later.
- Logs save to a text file, filter included.
- Crash reports export symbolicated.
- Files download to a folder you choose.
- Screenshots save as images, singly or on a timer.
A worked example
Section titled “A worked example”A tester reports that the feed stutters when scrolling fast, on their phone only.
- Pair their device, scope to your app.
- Open Performance and start a capture.
- Have them reproduce the scroll for ten seconds.
- Stop the capture and look at where the frame rate dipped. Read the other counters at that same moment — CPU spiking, memory climbing and GPU flat point at different causes.
- Switch to Live logs, filter to your app, and look at what it printed in that window.
- Export both and attach them to the ticket.
That is the whole loop, and it is the loop most of this documentation is describing in more detail.
What is free and what is not
Section titled “What is free and what is not”Device information, performance overview, live logs, file management, app management, configuration profiles and backups are free forever, with no account needed. Performance charts, performance history and the data-analysis module need an activation code — performance charts can be tried for 1 minute on every launch, and the 7-day VIP Trial is the low-cost way to try everything.
